Bridgeport, CT: The story began in 1938 when brothers Sidney and David Ringelheim moved from the Lower East Side of Manhattan to Bridgeport, CT. David took equipment orders from local restaurants and Sidney would drive down to the Bowery in New York City each week in his station wagon to fill those orders. And the rest is history, as Globe remains one of the true pioneers of the restaurant supply industry in Connecticut. Today, second generation Jay Ringelheim and his son, third generation Brian, continue the family business with a fresh look to the future.
This past fall Globe completed construction of their 10,000 square foot retail showroom and by the end of winter completed their new 40,000 square foot warehouse space. From paella pans to pizza ovens, this family owned and operated business continues to thrive within the region’s robust hospitality market. Their secret sauce remains – quality products, dedicated staff, and continual relationship building.
To celebrate Globe’s recent showroom addition and to bring together restaurateurs, chefs, food service operators, and home cooks, an Open House is on tap for Thursday, June 23 thru Saturday, June 25. The event is jammed packed with industry partners and equipment manufacturers demonstrating the latest in cooking equipment such as the Pacojet (micro-puree) and Combi Oven (steamer, fryer, smoker and more). Local chefs and bartenders will also be participating as Globe brings both front and back of the house professionals together to share in the latest industry gadgets and must-have tools that are necessary in running the day-today operations of this grueling industry. Cash and carry deals and specially marked down select equipment will also be available.
