SHU Welcomes Ravi Singh as New Board of Trustees Member

FAIRFIELD, Conn.—Sacred Heart University has named private investor Ravi Singh to its Board of Trustees, the institution’s top governing body.

Singh, who lives in New York City with his daughter Maya, is a former senior executive in the investment banking industry. He also is the lead investor and chairman of the YogaSmoga board. In addition, Singh is lead investor on Wearsafe Labs board; an investor, executive partner and chairman of the TruMid Financial executive board; and board member for Magic Pictures International.

From 2009 to 2012, Singh was managing director and head of alternative investments in the asset management division of Credit Suisse, overseeing all of Credit Suisse’s hedge fund and private equity businesses. Before Credit Suisse, he was at Goldman Sachs, where he was co-head of the company’s prime brokerage business. Singh retired from Goldman Sachs in November 2008 after 19 years, serving as partner the last eight years. Over the course of Singh’s career, he has run various equity trading businesses in New York and London.

Singh holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Columbia University. He is also a trustee of Barnard College and serves on the boards of the Dwight School Foundation and the ALLY Foundation.

In 2015, Singh was honored at Sacred Heart’s 2015 Discovery Gala, hailed as a pioneer in business and communications.
