Southport, CT - Join Pequot Library Executive Director Stephanie J. Coakley and Emily Hall Tremaine Foundation President Michelle Knapik for an engaging interview with Norwalk artist Sandy Garnett, author of The Year of the Artist on Sunday, October 16, from 3:00 - 5:00pm. The Emily Hall Tremaine Foundation supports emerging and established artists through business and professional development opportunities. They will discuss how artists are viewed and how their value in society is changing.
Norwalk-based artist Garnett will share his journey as an artist. He has worked over twenty years in art, primarily painting and sculpting. His work is included in numerous private, municipal and corporate collections. His most recognizable work can be found at the Stamford Train Station. His innovative light installation, Stamford Luminata, colorfully illuminates the station nightly. His latest work is a book, The Year of the Artist. The artist talk will be followed by a Q & A, book sales, signing, and a traditional toast of 'sherry in the stacks.' This program is part of Pequot Library's weeklong celebration of National Arts and Humanities Month.
