Westport, CT - The Westport Arts Center is thrilled to present Jenny Lin, one of today’s most respected young pianists, on Sunday, October 30 at 3 p.m. This concert will be held at the Saugatuck Congregational Church in Westport, CT (245 Post Road East).
Jenny Lin is known for her ability to combine classical and contemporary literature and has received substantial critical acclaim.

The New York Times described her as possessing “remarkable technical command” and “a gift for melodic flow.” The Washington Post praises “Lin’s confident fingers…spectacular technique…surely one of the most interesting pianists in America right now.”
For this performance, Lin will perform the theme “Sketches of Spain,” including Antonio Soler’s Fandango, Enrique Granados’ Los Requiebros, El Fandango del Candil, Quejas o la maja y el ruisenor, and El Amor y la Muerte from his Goyescas, and Maurice Ravel’s Alborada del Gracioso from Miroirs. Additionally, Lin will perform Igor Stravinsky’s Tango, Manuel de Falla’s Serenata Andaluza – Fantasia Baetica and Guido Agosti’s Berceuse and Finale from The Firebird.
Co-curator of the Westport Arts Center Chamber series, Alexander Platt, stated, "We've dubbed this concert 'Sketches of Spain,' as I think that one of the great pleasures of life is hearing music from the classic Spanish piano repertoire -- an amazing sound-world of passion, elegance, and introspection. The centenary of the death of Enrique Granados -- the forgotten Spanish master composer, who lost his life to German U-Boats while crossing the Atlantic -- gives us a noble excuse to revisit this glorious world, courtesy of my friend, the acclaimed pianist Jenny Lin.”

Unique to the Westport Arts Center series, the performance will include commentary by the Arts Center’s Performing Arts co-curator Russell Platt, providing an opportunity to gain a deeper appreciation for the music performers and genres.
