
Carole T. Collins, age 96, of Mount Pleasant, SC, formerly of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Michael Collins, passed away peacefully with her daughter and granddaughter by her side Friday, November 18, 2016.
Born in Bridgeport, the daughter of the late Michael and Lucy Caserta, she had been a Fairfield resident for 65 years prior to relocating to Mount Pleasant. A graduate of Warren Harding High School she was employed for over 50 years for the Fairfield School System.
Mrs. Collins was a devoted parishioner for many years of Our Lady of the Assumption Church where she enjoyed participating in various church activities. Hard working and a dedicated and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, the greatest joy in her life was spending time with her family, especially her cherished grandchildren. She always made it a point to be at all the special occasions for her grandchildren and was so very proud of them. She and her late husband Michael loved to travel and always looked forward to their next adventure.
Survivors include two beloved children, MaryLou Collins Korizno and her husband Michael of Mount Pleasant, SC and Michael Collins and his wife Louisa of Las Vegas, NV; four cherished grandchildren, Andrew Collins Korizno of Austin, TX, Catherine Collins Korizno of Charleston, SC, Michael Collins of Medford, MA and Christopher Collins of New York City; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Fairfield Museum and History Center, 370 Beach Road, Fairfield, CT 06824. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Carole's friends at Somerby of Mount Pleasant for their friendship, care and compassion during her stay.
