FAIRFIELD, CT — Miller Nissan will support the Norma Pfriem Breast Center’s Pink Pledge for a third year. Pink Pledge, which takes place in October, is a month-long, community-wide campaign to raise funds for the Norma Pfriem Breast Center’s life-saving programs for women in need while promoting breast cancer awareness and early detection. Connecticut has the highest rate of breast cancer incidence in the country. Paul Miller, president of Miller Nissan and trustee of the Norma F. Pfriem Foundation, presented a check for $25,000 to Dr. Donna Twist, Executive Director of the Norma Pfriem Breast Center, on Thursday.
Miller Nissan sponsors the “Pink Awareness” police car, which will be visible throughout the month of October. The Norma F. Pfriem Foundation is the Pink Pledge Corporate Awareness Sponsor.
Pink Pledge begins with a Kick-off event on September 29 at the Sherman Green, Fairfield. The evening starts with a Stroll for Strength, beginning at 5:00pm at the Breast Center in Fairfield. Patients, survivors, friends and family will walk to the Sherman Green for the Pink Pledge Kick-off before continuing the celebration at select downtown restaurants.
Pledge Pledge activities take place throughout the month of October, with individuals, schools, fitness centers, restaurants, businesses, town offices and many others taking the Pink Pledge by offering specials and hosting FUNdraisers, all to help raise awareness of breast cancer and support the charitable programs at the Norma Pfriem Breast Center.
Fairfield businesses have pledged to support the Norma Pfriem Breast Center throughout October by offering special promotions and events to benefit the center.
More information is available at www.pinkpledge.org or on the Norma Pfriem Breast Center Facebook page (formerly Pink Pledge). If your business would like to participate in the Pink Pledge campaign, please contact Marlene Battista at marbattista@optonline.net.
