Why did you start your business?
Wow! this is such a great question. I wish I had some fabulous answer but for me it was simple. I wanted to work for myself. I was working lots of hours in retail and I wanted to take my expertise and build something on my own. The Label Exchange is actually my second re-sale business. I originally opened this store to expand into the Fairfield area after the success of my first business in New Canaan. Since starting in 2009 my mission has become so much more than just working for myself. I enjoy being a part of the Fairfield community and participating in local charities such as the Pink Pledge. My clients have become more like family to me & many of them I know on a first name basis. I guess I feel like I have come full circle from why I did this - to why I am doing this and why I continue to do this day in and day out.
Best selling product or service?
Our Best service is Consignment! It gives the town of Fairfield the opportunity to clean out their closets, earn some money and shop some great upscale clothing.
Well, we are such a small operation and since we are a green resale type of business, we don't actually get a ton supplies etc. However, I am a huge supporter of paying it forward and supporting other local businesses. We are constantly recommending our clients to other local businesses - especially when we don't have what they are looking for or they need additional items to complete their outfit or need additional services such as dry cleaning or leather repairs. My three top recommended businesses are 1. In The Mood Intimates 2. Heritage Cleaners & 3. Westport Shoe Repair.
