Fairfield, Conn. -- The Connecticut Audubon Society in Fairfield has been selected as a beneficiary of the Stop & Shop Community Bag Program for the month of January. The Stop & Shop reusable bag program is a way shoppers can support the environment while giving back to the community where they live and work.
Connecticut Audubon was selected as the January beneficiary of the program by store leadership at the Stop & Shop located at 1160 Kings Highway Cut-Off in Fairfield. Connecticut Audubon will receive a $1 donation every time the $2.50 reusable Community Bag is purchased at this location during January, unless otherwise directed by the customer through the Giving Tag attached to the bag.
“Connecticut Audubon is grateful to be chosen as a beneficiary of Stop & Shop’s Community Bag program,” said Shari Greenblatt, Southwest Region Director of The Connecticut Audubon Society. “Every bag that is purchased is a double investment in preserving the environment—through reducing the use of disposable shopping bags, and supporting Connecticut Audubon’s conservation and environmental education programs that benefit the Fairfield community.”
