TSC Welcomes Author Michael Hebb for Intergenerational Dinner Discussion

Southport, CTTrinity Spiritual Center invites the public to join an intergenerational dinner conversation on the importance of love in these difficult times.

This special event, part of the nationwide “Generations Over Dinner” movement, will be the second dinner party in Southport led by Michael Hebb, whom the New York Times calls an “underground restauranteur and provocateur”. The dinner will take place on Sunday, January 29, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and is open to all. The importance of intimate relationships will be a major theme of the evening.

“Love Actually Is All Around Us” is Hebb’s latest project to use the dinner table as a fulcrum for cultural change. Last year, Trinity Spiritual Center’s “Let’s Talk About Death (over Dinner)” conversation was sold out. Over one million individuals around the world have participated in Hebb’s dinner parties over the past 10 years.

Over the course of the evening, Hebb will engage participants in a deeply engaging conversation about the many ways that intimacy and connection in all its forms transforms our lives. Following this highly interactive discussion, over a family-style dinner, attendees will begin to share ways in which love has transformed their lives. The mix of generations around each table will bring each age group’s perspective to bear on the topic.

“Gen Z, Millennials, Baby Boomers, and the Silent Generation can all benefit from a better of understanding each other’s lessons of love,” said Mark Grayson, Director of Trinity Spiritual Center. “Don’t know what a ‘situationship’ is, or what ‘this magic moment’ means? This is your chance to bridge the gap.”

All are welcome. No affiliation with Trinity is required.

Hebb, whose writings have appeared in USA Today, GQ, Food and Wine, and numerous other publications, is the Founder of www.Deathoverdinner.org, www.Drugsoverdinner.org and EOL.community. Hebb is also the founding partner of Convivium, a creative agency that specialized in shifting culture through the use of thoughtful food and discourse-based gatherings. Convivium's client list includes: The Obama Foundation, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, TEDMED, The World Economic Forum, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Clinton Global Initiative, X Prize Foundation, The Nature Conservancy.

“We're thrilled to help create a national movement that encourages shared wisdom," says Michael Hebb. “There is no question that cross-generational connection and collaboration can genuinely change the world. We hope that Generations Over Dinner drives meaningful conversations that deepen understanding across generations, underscoring the value of the life experience that is ours to share at every age.”

In addition to Trinity Spiritual Center, the partners participating in “Generations Over Dinner” include: Modern Elder Academy (MEA)Association for Growth and Education (AGE)Stanford Center on LongevityEsalen InstituteEncore.orgOld Dominion UniversityUniversity of DenverSoho House, and more.

"Last year’s ‘Let’s Talk About Death (Over Dinner)’ was such a success that we knew we couldn't stop there," says Grayson. "Michael’s provocations demonstrate the importance of bringing curious minds together to engage in important conversations. It will be amazing to see what wisdom an 80-year-old will share with an 21-year-old, and just as importantly, what new curiosities a 21-year-old can share to inspire an 80-year-old on January 29th. Come join us for another fantastic discussion!"
