FAIRFIELD, Conn.—Yale New Haven Health’s Northeast Medical Group (NEMG) has completed a new space at its Park Avenue Medical Center to serve as a health center for Sacred Heart University students. The new state-of-the-art space encompasses 2,000 square feet, four exam rooms, a lab and is fully dedicated to SHU students.
NEMG began operating out of the new space March 13 but has been serving students in a temporary space since August 15. The medical center is located at 5520 Park Avenue, Trumbull—just down the street from SHU’s Park Avenue campus. Students can take a SHU shuttle to the facility.
This expanded partnership between SHU and NEMG gives students greater access to medical care as SHU’s health services are now part of the wider Yale New Haven Health System, and NEMG is able to provide coordinated health care. All Yale New Haven Health resources are available to students.
“Yale New Haven Health is very excited to expand our partnership with Sacred Heart,” said Anne Diamond, executive vice president, Yale New Haven Health and president, Bridgeport Hospital. “This new location will allow for easy access to world-class care for students, close to campus with seamless transitions to higher level care if ever needed.”
NEMG and SHU continue to work closely with Orthopaedic Specialty Group for sports medicine management for student-athletes.
