The awards will be presented Monday, June 5, at the Shubert Theater in New Haven. Categories include best ensemble, best choreography, best actor and actress, best musical and more! Tickets are available at:

Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to celebrate our local high schools and their incredible theater programs! Hosted by Broadway’s Nikhil Saboo (Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, Mean Girls) and Kevin Csolak (West Side Story film & revival, Mean Girls).

Black Rock Theater provides professional-level training and performance opportunities for artists of all backgrounds. Within our Academy, students study singing, dancing, and acting in group classes and private lessons to further develop their craft. Our top-tier stage productions connect emerging artists with working industry professionals as we produce a full five-show season with Equity contracts.

The Stephen Sondheim Awards aim to connect, cultivate, and celebrate high school musical theatre students and educators across Connecticut & Massachusetts. Throughout the year, The Stephen Sondheim Awards offers educational opportunities and individualized feedback to help schools grow their theatre programs year after year. This regional program culminates in a Tony Awards® style gala that honors outstanding productions, performances, and participation. It provides the opportunity for students and teachers to come together as a community to celebrate the magic of high school musical theatre!
