Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Amelia Jo & Co.!

Four questions with Amelia Fogarty, founder of Amelia Jo & Co.

Why did you start your business?

I started my business in 2017 after the birth of my first child. I wanted to be able to have the flexibility to work for myself so that I could also be with my daughter during the day. Owning my own design firm meant I could take on the clients and projects that fueled my creativity.

What is your best-selling product/service?

My Brand Identity package is my most popular service, which provides a logo, a secondary logo, marketing material, and a website.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

- Rudy's Carpet Cleaning (for interior projects)
- Fine Finishes (for interior projects)
- Staples (printing)

Have you "reimagined" your small business?

My business has been reimagined with the birth of each of my children. I have had to change my services and offerings to niche down instead of offering too many services.
