Why Small Businesses Matter
Shop small, do big things for your community
Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!
You're IT Virtual Support Gal!
Four questions with Elizabeth Hill, founder of Virtual Support Gal.
Why did you start your business?
I've always loved helping others, especially in my community. I was a tech head at heart and spent many nights playing around on AOL Hometown back in the day. After studying web design in college, I launched my website design business in 2007 and started to get requests for other types of marketing assistance, such as Google Business Management, SEO, and social media. I realized there was a huge need for support with more than just my client's websites.
What is your best-selling product/service?
Google Business Profile Management and social media marketing. Every small business needs both of these services, and they are so important for visibility and growth.
Absolutely! All Natural Design (Ali Anne Johnson), HostingCT (Paula Pierce), Monomoy Social Media (Nicole Porter), Get New Clients Now (Bill Doerr), Innate Marketing (Christina Frei), 203Local (Micaela Marshall), M&T Bank.
Have you "reimagined" your small business?
Many times. My service offerings change as my client's needs and goals change. I've teamed up with more nonprofits, always trying to go the extra mile and strive to be a better part of my community.
