Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT ConnectFairfield!

Three questions with Debbi O'Keefe, founder of ConnectFairfield.

Why did you start your business?

I started ConnectFairfield to create events to bring together Fairfield residents and support local nonprofit organizations.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

For every event hosted by ConnectFairfield, a percentage of ticket sales are donated to a local nonprofit, and 100% of the sponsorship revenue.

In the past two years, we have donated and/or promoted events for the following charity partners: Bridge House, The Barnum Festival, Center for Family & Justice, CJD Foundation, Fairfield Economic Development, Fairfield Parks & Recreation, Inspire Inc., Mercy Learning Center, Norma Pfriem Breast Cancer, Operation Hope, Park City Presents, Pequot Library, REACH Program, The Quick Center, Rock4RV, Sandy Hook Promise, St. Baldrick's Foundation, SHU Community Theatre, Sticks for Soldiers, Trinity Spiritual Center, Wakeman Boys & Girls Club, Women in Need and WPKN Radio to name a few!

Have you "reimagined" your small business?

To stay true and authentic to the original mission of creating connections and supporting the people, businesses, and organizations in the local area. ConnectFairfield “Connecting our Community”.
