Why Small Businesses Matter
Shop small, do big things for your community
Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!
You're IT Tara Cristi Creative!
Four questions with Tara Perkins, CEO of Tara Cristi Creative.
Why did you start your business?
I have always possessed an entrepreneurial spirit and one of my favorite activities is writing, so it was a natural fit for me to launch my own small business focused on writing. I love working creatively and collaboratively with my clients. I enjoy fostering a sense of community and my work leaves me feeling fulfilled.
What is your best-selling product/service?
I excel quickly at learning and adapting to the specific brand tone of each of my clients. I offer copywriting for all types of digital and printed collateral, articles, social media content, editing, and proofreading. I also provide public relations to select clients as that is one of my career specialties.
How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?
Have you "reimagined" your small business?
Since I launched my business during the COVID pandemic, I continue to rely on innovative tools that enable me to conduct remote meetings and to work from home in an efficient manner. I also believe not everyone is their most productive on a 9-5 schedule. In order to achieve a healthy work-life balance, I set my schedule, accordingly.
