The Maritime Aquarium Announces Upcoming Events

Norwalk, CT - The Maritime Aquarium has announced several upcoming events: 

Ok2berfest Cruises 

Enjoy the crisp fall air with The Maritime Aquarium, The Norwalk Seaport Association, and Two Roads Brewing aboard an Ok2berfest cruise on Saturday, Oct. 7; Saturday, Oct. 21 and Saturday, Oct. 28 at 4 p.m. 

This adventure includes specialty beers from Two Roads, German-inspired small bites, and distant views of foliage on the Norwalk Islands during a season known for tranquil water and light boat traffic on Long Island Sound. Plus, each guest will take home a souvenir tasting glass!

Please note, this event is for guests ages 21 and over. We ask that a valid ID be shown at the dock. Guests are advised to dress warm and bring a jacket in case of cool weather. To purchase tickets, visit www.maritimeaquarium.org

Member Mornings

Membership at The Maritime Aquarium offers access to exclusive events – including Member Mornings, held the second Saturday of every month! On Saturday, Oct. 14, members can visit between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. to beat the crowds before the Aquarium opens to the public. 

Members also receive discounts on 4D Theater tickets, birthday parties, camps, gift shop purchases and more. Learn about membership levels at www.maritimeaquarium.org/membership.  

Teacher Weekend

Teachers a guest of their choosing will receive free admission to The Maritime Aquarium when they visit for “Teacher Weekend” on Saturday, Oct. 21 and Sunday, Oct. 22. 

In addition to seeing the Aquarium’s exhibits and beloved animals, teachers will have the opportunity to speak with members of the award-winning Education Department about programs – both at the Aquarium and their schools – for students in early elementary through high school.

4D Theater Movies

The Wishbones are back just in time for Halloween! In this 10-minute made-for-4D film, Max builds an experimental virtual reality video game. When the evil witch Babayaga’s magical charm is used to start the machine, the family is transported into the game as their spooky monster personas. Together, they must master every level to escape – but can they can they make it back to reality before the virtual world starts to crumble? Featured in digital 3D and brought to life with 4D multi-sensory effects, this is an immersive experience the whole family will enjoy. 

BBC EARTH’S OCTOPUS: BLUE PLANET II 4D EXPERIENCE 

Inspired by the critically-acclaimed BBC series, Blue Planet II, this special effects experience takes you beneath the surface to explore dynamic oceanic landscapes and one of the most captivating creatures that dwells there: the octopus. Discover how this eight-tentacle wonder masters physical and mental strengths to outwit and escape its underwater rivals in this 12 minute film.

10 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily 

ADMISSION:

Aquarium only: $31.95 adults; $27.95 seniors (65+); $22.95 children (3-12). 
Add a 4D movie: $7 per person ($6 for members).
