
Bridgeport, CT - The Bridgeport Police Department has worked and continues to work closely with The Center Family Justice as they help those impacted by domestic violence.
In an additional show of support, the Bridgeport police on Tues., Oct. 3 unveiled its purple wrapped patrol car in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness month.
CFJ CEO and President Debra Greenwood joined Chief Roderick Porter at the unveiling, which was held in front of the department.
In addition, Officer Tamara Garcia has designed special patches in honor of domestic violence awareness. The patches are being sold in an effort to raise money for CFJ.

CFJ recently honored the department's Special Victims Unit as a Partner of the Year due to its staff's dedication to responding to domestic violence, sexual assault and child sexual abuse cases.
Police departments from Bridgeport and the other towns the center serves - Easton, Fairfield, Monroe, Stratford and Trumbull - will join us as we remember those lost to domestic violence at a vigil scheduled for Tuesday, October 10 at 6 p.m. at the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater in Bridgeport. All are welcome to join us at this free event.
