FAIRFIELD, Conn.—Sacred Heart University will host a variety of events to celebrate the holiday season. The programs range from beautifully arranged instrumental and choral concerts to performances for families to enjoy. There is sure to be something for everyone during SHU’s holiday celebration.
West Campus Tree Lighting: Come gather at SHU’s West Campus, 3135 Easton Turnpike, Fairfield, on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 5:30 p.m. to watch the lighting of its beautiful Christmas tree. Admission is free.
Happy Holiday: Join all five of SHU’s vocal ensembles on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 8 p.m. at the Edgerton Center for a family-friendly holiday program of popular Christmas favorites, as well as lesser-known gems from holiday traditions around the world. General admission $25.
Home for the Holidays: On Dec. 3, at 3 p.m. at the Edgerton Center, celebrate the season with the SHU band featuring a concert of holiday favorites, a popular audience sing-along, plus a few surprises. General admission $15.
Jack Frost: This show is a wonderful introduction for children to learn about, perhaps not-so-familiar holiday celebrations while having lots of fun. Shows will be in the Edgerton Center from Dec. 13 through 15 at 10:30 a.m. for school groups pre-k through third grade only. Student and chaperone tickets are $9.
A Christmas Carol: A new SHU holiday tradition continues with a sparkling adaptation written by nationally recognized student playwright Grace Curley ’23. This second annual production welcomes back SHU alum John Ratzenberger as Ebenezer Scrooge in this timeless holiday tale. Performances are on Friday, Dec. 15, at 8 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 16, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 17, at 3 p.m. in the Edgerton Center. General admission is $25.
