Celebrate Doggy Days of Summer with The Westport Book Shop Sat. June 22

Westport, CT – Calling all dog lovers! The Westport Book Shop is excited to announce a special event, "Doggy Days of Summer" to be held on Jesup Green, across from the Westport Book Shop, on June 22nd from 10:30 AM to Noon. This family-friendly event promises a tail-wagging good time for all ages, featuring a book reading, signing, and various dog-themed activities.

Event Highlights:

·     Author Reading and Signing:  Accomplished author Denis O'Neill and talented illustrator Cyrus Quadland invite you to the world of "Bradford's Walk," a charming tale that celebrates the adventures of a lovable brown dog named Bradford, as he wanders around our beautiful town! Join Denis as he reads  to Westport PD’s K9 unit and Oakley, a therapy dog from Pet Partners who participates in Westport Library's Reading to Rover program. 

·     Meet and Greet: Interact with the Westport PD’s K9 unit and learn about their important work.

·     Art and Activities: Enjoy dog-themed art by talented artists Jack Geer and Ranvir Sharma, and have fun with a doggy beanie baby corn hole game.

·     Community Partners: Meet the dedicated folks from Team Woofgang & Co, a local organization committed to supporting the canine community and adults with disabilities.

Bring your family for a day of fun, learning, and community spirit. It's a perfect opportunity to celebrate our furry friends and support local authors and artists.

Rain Date: In case of inclement weather, the event will be postponed to Sunday, June 23rd, from 11:00 AM.

Location: Jesup Green, across from the Westport Book Shop, 23 Jesup Road, Westport, CT.

Westport Book Shop, a nonprofit used book store, is downtown Westport’s only source for previously read and greatly appreciated used and antiquarian books, vintage vinyl records, CDs, DVDs and audio books.  It is located at 23 Jesup Road, right across Jesup Green from the Westport Library.
