New Haven, CT – Get ready to lace up your sneakers and don your St. Patrick’s Day best because the annual 99.1 PLR CrossPoint Federal Credit Union ShamRock & Roll 5K is returning on March 3, 2024! This year’s event aims to gather over 100,000 diapers for The Diaper Bank. Limited to 1,500 participants, organizers anticipate a swift sell-out for this highly anticipated event, which kicks off at 9 a.m. from Toad’s Place on York Street in New Haven.
The ShamRock & Roll promises more than just a race—it’s an experience. Participants are encouraged to hit the pavement in festive St. Patrick’s Day attire, with custom pint glasses awaiting the most creatively dressed individuals and groups. Custom pint glasses for best group and individual costumes are distributed. Pint glasses are also awarded to the first male, female and non-binary finishers. The New Haven St. Patrick’s Day Parade Grand Marshal, Bernadette Canning, is set to make an appearance to meet and greet runners and spectators!
Runners, walkers and spectators can enjoy rock music played at Toad's Place and along the 5K course. One Heineken Silver beer is offered to paying race participants 21+! The first 1,200 participants receive long sleeve tech tees. Participants can enjoy a rockin’ post-race party at Toad’s Place, complete with live entertainment, great food and refreshments courtesy of Heineken Silver and Toad’s Place. Early packet pick-up is available, hosted by Woodbridge Running Company on Friday, March 1 from 11a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday, March 2 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
