Fairfield Marks Earth Day Healthy Kids Day, Drive Electric & Spring ReSale

Fairfield, CT - Celebrating Earth Day in Fairfield will be in full swing on Saturday, April 26th. Residents of all ages can participate in fun and educational activities -- and score some giveaways, too while renewing our commitment to protecting our environment.

Once again, Fairfield Earth Day celebration is in partnership with the YMCA's Healthy Kids Day® on April 26th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fairfield YMCA, 841 Old Post Road. The event includes a variety of fun displays and booths and interactive fun including the annual “Trashy” Fashion Show, electric vehicle showcase, a forum with Fairfield’s legislators, plant & seed exploration & sale, New Haven Health Bike Helmet giveaways & fitting, Sustainable Warde Redeemable Bottle Drive, Prescription Drug Recycling and much more. The Institute American Indian Studies from Washington, Conn., will also be on hand to lead attendees in a two-eyed seeing program throughout the day.

Just a few blocks away from the YMCA at Roger Sherman Elementary School, 250 Fern Street, the Fairfield Green Teams will hold a Spring ReSale event from Noon to 3 p.m. where residents can buy gently used clothing, toys, books, sports equipment, household items and more. All proceeds will go to the Fairfield Green Teams, which provides consistent sustainable practices across Fairfield's 16 schools.
