Fairfield University’s Men’s Ice Hockey Team Stages Toy Drive for Al’s Angels

FAIRFIELD, Conn. —The Men’s Ice Hockey team at Fairfield University exemplified their community spirit this holiday season by organizing a toy drive for Al’s Angels.

Al’s Angels provides support to children and families who are battling cancer, rare blood diseases, natural disasters, and severe financial hardship. The team created a GoFundMe account to raise money for the toy drive, where they raised over $2,900. They used the money to purchase $2,000 worth of toys, and donated them to Al’s Angels for the children in the St. Baldricks Foundation. In addition to the toy donation, the team donated the remaining funds to Al’s Angels.

These efforts by the Men’s Ice Hockey team reflect the University’s commitment to community service and engagement. The toy drive was an opportunity for the team to serve the community and put a smile on the faces of children facing hardship and struggle.

The Men’s Ice Hockey team has made this toy drive an annual tradition, and this year has been particularly successful thanks to the community's generosity. This initiative is one of many that Fairfield University Athletics and club teams spearhead to give back to the community.
