Fairfield U's Spring Open VISIONS Forums to Spotlight Noted Authors & Experts

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Fairfield University’s Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts is proud to present the spring season of Open VISIONS Forum: Espresso, featuring distinguished authors, historians, and educators sharing powerful stories that deepen our understanding of art, history, and global leadership. Designed to spark curiosity and dialogue, these events offer audiences the opportunity to engage with leaders in various fields. From uncovering the mysteries of Nazi-looted art, to the restoration of iconic architecture and the empowerment of women through education, each event offers both inspiration and information. 

Tuesday, Feb. 4 | 7:30 p.m.

Jonathan Santlofer, “The Lost Van Gogh: Nazi Looting, Interpol Agents, Art Sleuths on a Mission” 

Renowned author and visual artist Jonathan Santlofer will discuss his latest novel, The Lost Van Gogh, a thrilling tale of masterpieces and mystery. Known for The Widower’s Notebook, and The Last Mona Lisa, Santlofer’s work intertwines art history with gripping historical fiction.

Lucy Ferriss, PhD, “Education Is Her Weapon: AFSO’s Mission in Afghanistan”

Lucy Ferriss, co-founder and board president of the Afghan Female Student Outreach (AFSO), will discuss the organization’s mission to empower Afghan women through education.

Michael Davis, PhD, “Medieval Bones to Today’s Inspiring Spires: The Dedication & Recovery of Notre Dame Cathedral”

Explore the remarkable restoration of Notre Dame Cathedral following its devastating 2019 fire. Mount Holyoke College Professor Emeritus Michael Davis, PhD, an expert in French Gothic architecture, will share insights into the cathedral’s rich history and its five-year journey of recovery.

Janet Wallach. “Flirting With Danger: Socialite & Spy - Marguerite Harrison”

Acclaimed author Janet Wallach will discuss her latest book, Flirting with Danger, chronicling the daring life of Marguerite Harrison, a socialite turned spy. Wallach’s work highlights the impact of remarkable women in history.
