Westport, CT - The Levitt Pavilion is thrilled to make its first announcement of the 2025 Season: Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and The Infamous Stringdusters in a special co-headlining tour, joined by rising NYC indie-funk outfit Melt, will light up the Epstein Stage at the Levitt Pavilion on Sunday, June 1st. This highly-anticipated and select run will bring an eclectic blend of funk, bluegrass, and soulful indie sounds to just five iconic venues across the Northeast from May 29 to June 2, 2025, and offers listeners the perfect way to interweave dazzling tunes from three dynamic and distinct bands.
This marks the first announcement of the Levitt Pavilion’s 2025 Season, which will run from May - October, and which will - as always - feature both paid-ticket shows and its signature “50 free shows” under the stars. With more shows to be announced on a rolling basis, the Levitt Pavilion - an independent and unique non-profit arts presenter - continues to produce one of the longest-running outdoor arts festivals in the nation in its iconic outdoor home.
This tour collaboration marks a milestone moment in each band’s storied career. Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, fresh off a career-defining 2024, continues to captivate audiences with their unique blend of psychedelic funk and infectious energy. Highlights from the past year include a sold-out show kicking off the Levitt Pavilion’s 50th Season, featured sets at marquee festivals
like Maryland's Ocean's Calling and Las Vegas' Bender Jamboree, as well as the release of their seventh studio album, Day in Time.
Joining as co-headliners are bluegrass trailblazers The Infamous Stringdusters, renowned for their Grammy-winning mastery of progressive Americana. Following the success of their 2024 compilation album, Songs from the River, the Stringdusters continue to redefine the boundaries of bluegrass. Known for their fiery live shows that invite fans into an intimate and uplifting musical experience, the Stringdusters are sure to bring their indelible spark to the tour.
Rounding out this powerhouse lineup is NYC’s Melt, a band that combines indie grooves, funk-infused melodies, and soul-soothing vocals into a sound all their own. Melt’s debut full-length album, If There's a Heaven, showcased their extraordinary songwriting chops, helping them sell out venues nationwide. Closing their 2024 tour with a packed hometown crowd at Brooklyn Steel, Melt arrives on this tour as a fast-rising act ready to turn heads and win hearts.
“It’s hard to believe that this is Pigeons first time touring with the Stringdusters,” said PPPP frontman “Scrambled Greg” Ormont. “We’ve always loved their music and can’t wait to get to know them better, both on and off the stage. And with Melt kicking things off each night, I think there’s something for everyone on this run.”
Enhanced concert experiences will be available each night, through the Pigeons & Dusters VIP Jam Session Package. This premium offering features early venue entry, a private viewing of an intimate jam session featuring Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and The Infamous Stringdusters, the chance to help shape the evening’s setlist with a fan vote, and early access to exclusive merchandise.
