Lifelong Learners Find New Opps for Personal Enrichment with New Program at SHU

Fairfield, CT - Sacred Heart University is launching Encore Fellows, a dynamic, year-long program designed for individuals eager to embrace the next chapter of their lives with purpose and passion.

Starting in the fall 2025 semester, the program will offer an immersive experience featuring thought-provoking seminars, customized course selections and opportunities for personal growth.

The University will hold two open houses on March 27. Directors will be on campus for in-person discussions from 1 to 3 p.m., and they will be available virtually from 7 to 8 p.m. Those interested can register for an open house online at www.sacredheart.edu/encorefellows.

Encore Fellows offers a non-credit, year-long transformative journey for accomplished individuals who want to develop a deeper understanding of who they are; how to live meaningful, purposeful and healthier lives; and how they can contribute their talents to their community. Along with core seminars, participants will choose elective courses from a variety of interdisciplinary options.

The program begins with a series of required seminars, meeting for approximately 90 minutes per week over four weeks on the topics of learning and knowing, wisdom and wholeness, enrichment and enjoyment, and leading and serving.

Participants will have the option to attend biweekly wine and cheese discussions with faculty and other Encore program members, and they will have the opportunity to attend Sacred Heart events, including lectures, colloquia, theater performances, films, concerts, art exhibits and athletic events.

The program will offer an optional trip abroad, as well as optional hotel accommodations for program participants who wish to travel to campus for classes and events, both for additional cost.
