FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The School of Communication, Media & the Arts at Sacred Heart University, in partnership with The Explorers Club New England Chapter, Canon USA, the Connecticut Audubon Society and the National Audubon Society, is proud to present a special Earth Day screening of Flyway of Life, the latest film by award-winning filmmaker Tomas Koeck. The film is an awe-inspiring documentary celebrating the Atlantic Flyway and the extraordinary migratory journeys of North America’s birds.
The event will be held at the Sacred Heart University Community Theatre and the Bruce S. Kershner Gallery in Fairfield, Connecticut on April 22. It will feature a 30-piece photography exhibit presented by Canon USA and a book signing at the Bruce S. Kershner Gallery. Guests will enjoy a red-carpet arrival, followed by the screening and an engaging panel discussion featuring leading conservationists, members of the film’s production team and avian experts from the Connecticut Audubon Society.
Flyway of Life explores the vital role of various ecosystems along the Atlantic Flyway and their importance to bird populations. Through the voices of wildlife scientists, conservationists and naturalists, the film illuminates how these diverse habitats—from Canada’s frozen tundra to the lush jungles of Costa Rica—are interconnected. Viewers will gain a deeper appreciation for how birds not only link distant ecosystems but also connect us to the natural world.
“This Earth Day, we invite audiences to witness the beauty and significance of one of nature’s greatest spectacles—the migration of birds across the Atlantic Flyway,” said Tomas Koeck, director of the project and Sacred Heart University alum. “What started as a documentary about birds has evolved into a film that illustrates how birds connect all of our environments—and how our environments, in turn, affect them.”
