Stamford Boys & Girls Club Corporate 5K Race to Draw Over 1,500 Runners

Stamford, CT: The annual Stamford Boys & Girls Club Corporate 5K takes place Thursday night, May 15, at Mill River Park! The event encourages co-workers and community members to come together after the workday for fresh air, fun, and friendly competition. The flat 5K starts and finishes at Mill River Park. Individuals and families are also welcome. After the race, join your friends and co-workers for refreshments and food trucks! Event proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford.

“We are thrilled to host this race once again in Mill River Park and greatly appreciate all the community support and donations for our mission,” said Craig Baker, Chief Executive Officer of the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford.

More than 70 corporations have already formed teams, ranging from three members to more than 100 runners. Awards will be presented to the top three team and individual corporate finishers in the following categories: Overall Team, Men’s Open, Men’s Masters (age 40+), Women’s Open, and Women’s Masters (age 40+).

The Boys & Girls Club of Stamford serves more than 550 underserved youth daily after school and during the summer in the community. Ninety-five percent of the organization’s youth are children and teens of color, 99% come from homes earning less than the Connecticut Survival Budget, half come from single-parent households, and half are English Language Learners (ELLs). The event is organized by the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford and JB Sports.
