SOUTHPORT, CT – Trinity Spiritual Center invites you to relax and recharge after the holidays through the extraordinary experience of sound healing, an ancient practice that uses sound vibrations to promote healing and relaxation.
On Saturday, January 11 at 10:00 AM, former Broadway performer, sound alchemist and energy healer Terry Eldh will offer an hour-long, in-person retreat using crystal singing bowls. Made of the highest quality quartz crystal and other precious metals, these bowls resonate at the frequencies that can be felt throughout the body, restoring balance and promoting healing.
Spiritual traditions around the world have used sound as a form of healing for centuries. Scientists at the Mayo Clinic, the Cleveland Clinic, and the National Institutes of Health have long recognized the health benefits of sound as well. Frequencies of singing bowls are known to slow our brain waves into Alpha and Theta states: the state of deep meditation and relaxation.
Participants in Ms. Eldh’s sound healing programs report that they have experienced a significant reduction in stress and anxiety, relief from emotional and physical pain, improved sleep, and heightened states of mental clarity.
Afterwards there will be an opportunity to learn more about sound healing while enjoying a tea bar and some light refreshments. This special event is open to all members of the community regardless of religious affiliation. Participants should bring a yoga mat, pillow, and blanket to the event as we relax together to the healing sound of the singing bowls.
A longtime resident of Westport, CT, Terry has studied Reiki (a Japanese technique that uses gentle touch to promote relaxation, stress reduction, and well-being), bioenergetics and the power of sound to heal for over twenty years. Eldh began her career as classically trained soprano, performing in leading operatic roles in the US and abroad. She then moved on to Broadway, where she sang as in more than 3,000 performances of Phantom of the Opera. Sensing something more calling her, Eldh began studying Reiki and other forms of energy healing. She is now a master teacher of sound healers, both at The Sound Healers Academy based in Los Angeles, and through her own classes.
“Trinity Spiritual Center is pleased to offer this opportunity to re-energize and refresh the body-mind-spirit after the holidays,” says Mark Grayson, Director. “We look forward to experiencing the power of sound to heal.”
