This season he has been presented by Young Concert Artists in his New York recital debut and also at the Kennedy Center in Washington and at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston.  As soloist he is performing the Clarinet Concerto by Jean Francaix with the Meridien Symphony and in recital he has appeared at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts.

Already an award winner at age sixteen of First Prize at the International Young Musicians Competition in Prague and at age 15 at the Musical Youth of the Planet Competition in Moscow, Narek also received a coveted prize by the renowned violist and conductor Yuri Bashmet to perform concerts and record the Weber Concertino for Clarinet with the State Symphony of New Russia.

Born in Armenia, Narek moved to Moscow with his family when he was three years old.  He later graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory where he studied with Evgeny Petrov.  Now living in New York he presently studies with Charles Neidich at the Juilliard School.
