THE DINI BAND AT THE BEAR AND GRILL

LAWYER/ROCKER AT FAIRFIELD’S BEAR AND GRILL Fairfield, CT -

Something good is going to happen at the Bear and Grill Restaurant on Saturday March 24. It’s called The Dini Band. They are no ordinary Saturday night band. As a matter of fact the name Victoria Ferrara will be familiar to many Fairfield residents. She is a longtime resident of Fairfield and many are familiar with her legal practice, located at 2150 Post Road in Fairfield. But what many don’t know is that she leads her own rock and roll band, The Dini Band. Ferrara is very proud of her mantra “Lawyer by Day, Rocker by Night” and from the size of the crowds that have been turning out to hear The Dini Band, area music lovers have turned into believers. Says Ferrara of her newfound status as Lawyer by Day, Rocker by Night, “Music is my passion and to be able to play with two of the best musicians I know – Beth Bradley on anything with strings and Marion Najamy on percussion and drums – gives my passion even more firepower than I ever thought possible.”

Ferrara was in the band Troupe DiCoupe in the 80s playing in New York City and all over New England, notably at CBGB’s, Max's Kansas City, the Knitting Factory, and Ron's Place. She began playing the guitar as a 12-year old at her local church’s folk masses, but found her way into punk rock and onto the CBGB’s stage via her band Troupe DiCoupe. But she wanted to make a difference in other ways and so she finished her law degree in order to do legal work in the area of litigation and family law. Ferrara has always had a passion for children and now concentrates her practice in helping people build their families through assisted reproduction law and surrogacy. Her crowning achievement was the landmark case of Raftopol v. Ramey, a case that literally created a new way for people to establish their legal parentage.

In addition to giving birth or adopting, individuals and couples can now become legal parents through the use of a gestational surrogate to have their baby.
