JWC of Fairfield Presents Santa's House Proceeds Check to the King's Pantry

FAIRFIELD, CONN. –  The Junior Women’s Club of Fairfield hosted its annual membership drive on Tuesday, April 3 at the Burr Homestead in Fairfield, CT.  The event is hosted annually to encourage new and interested members to get to know each other and learn more about how the club supports the local community.

The event was a celebration of the new Spring season, with seasonal treats and beverages, and plenty of time for existing and potential members to socialize.  Also, the agenda featured both alumni and new member Q & A, as well more information on the cornerstone CARE (Consideration And Respect for Everyone) committee and the charitable work done throughout the year.

Most importantly, during the event, the JWC of Fairfield welcomed special guest, Rolanda Smith, of The King’s Pantry in Bridgeport.  Ms. Smith was on hand to receive a $3000 check culminating the completion of the organization’s 2016/2017 JWC CARE partnership.  The donation was generated by the proceeds of the prior year’s “A Visit to Santa’s House”, the club’s annual fundraiser held every December in Fairfield.  With the latest partnership coming to a close, the Junior Women’s Club CARE committee is hard at work selecting its 2018 partner. The club received 15 applications to date and is in the process of interviewing the final 3 candidate organizations. The committee is due to announce the selected partner later this Spring.

Open to women in Fairfield and surrounding towns, the JWC is a non-profit service organization that gives members the chance to make new friends while giving back to the greater community through social and personal enrichment programs, fundraisers, and local events.
