Rocco & Assoc. to Support Police Union's Golf Tourney

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Rocco & Associates Wealth Management, Inc. (roccoandassociates.com) has announced that it will once again support the Fourth Annual Police Union's Scholarship Fund's Annual Golf Tournament.

The tournament will be held at the Patterson Club on May 21st. The Fairfield Police Union is recognized as the exclusive bargaining agent for the unit consisting of all full-time Police Officers within the Fairfield Police Department, except officers of the grade of Captain and above, on all matters of wages, hours, and conditions of employment.

Each year the Fairfield Police Union awards several educational scholarships.  The Fairfield Police Union Scholarship Fund was established in 2014 and benefits the children of Fairfield Police Officers.  Each year, scholarships are awarded to the children of current Fairfield Police Officers.  In addition, the Fairfield High School Scholarship Foundation awards scholarships annually to graduating Fairfield High School seniors who plan to pursue a career in law enforcement or are the children of a Police Officer. "Fairfield police officers and their union are a vital part of our community. We think there is no better way to give back to that community then to support the men and women who keep us safe." said Charlie Rocco, President & CEO. This year the firm will enter two foursomes into the play, as well as continue to help offset the cost of the tournament balls.

The fund began with an initial contribution of $10,000 and has grown substantially through a combination of fundraisers and donations. The golf tournament is just one of the fundraisers hosted throughout the year. In addition, all Fairfield Police Officers make a contribution to the fund from their weekly pay.

"Interfacing with Lieutenant Keith Broderick who organizes the tournament and who also serves as the Union President has been very rewarding, "says Eric Johnson, COO. "It has been great to see the participation increase over the years which translates into greater awareness amongst the community and more funds raised for the cause. Getting to play a round of golf with those that protect our community also gives our team an opportunity to say thank you for their service to the town and its residents," says Johnson.
