Chris Sabia Memorial Wiffle Ball Tourney Sept. 8

STAMFORD CT – The inaugural Christopher Sabia Memorial Wiffle Ball Tournament will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Cove Island Park in Stamford at 9 am

“Sabes” was a Stamford Legion baseball executive, coach and player for over two decades before he passed away from cancer last July at age 39. He was survived by his wife Emma and son CJ.

New York Mets star David Wright, a longtime friend of Sabia, will be in attendance along with Mets bullpen catcher and Stamford resident Dave Racainello.

The event will be capped at 64 teams. Entry fee is $100, with up to four players per team ages 13 & over.

First and second place finishers will win 4 premium tickets and 4 on-field pre-game batting practice passes to a New York Mets or New York Yankees game. A prize will also be awarded to third place.

To register, please complete the entry form and pay by credit card on the Stamford Legion website at...

www.stamfordlegionbaseball.com

The goal of the tournament is to raise scholarships funds for less-fortunate ball players in the greater Stamford community, something that was always important to Sabia.

Event organizers hope that players, parents, coaches and wiffle ball lovers from throughout the Tri-State area will support and enjoy this great cause celebrating such an influential person in the Stamford community.
