American Cancer Society's Real Men Wear Pink of Fairfield County Launch Party in Westport

Real Men Wear Pink Reveal & Launch Party: Tuesday, September 25 from 6-8PM at Maserati of Westport

In its third year across Fairfield County, an expected 20 area leaders will unite to fight breast cancer with the American Cancer Society through participation in the Real Men Wear Pink campaign. Men participating in the campaign will be announced at this event, kickstarting their fundraising efforts. Participants will also raise awareness for breast cancer by wearing pink throughout the month of October. Last year, 20 men raised over $30,000.

Breast cancer doesn’t just affect women. Thousands of men are diagnosed with the disease in the US every year. And so are more than 266,000 of their daughters, wives, mothers, sisters, and friends. The American Cancer Society created the Real Men Wear Pink campaign to engage and empower male community leaders in the fight to end breast cancer. Each Real Men Wear Pink participant accepts a fundraising challenge and competes to be the top fundraiser among his peers by the end of the campaign.

While this campaign is a fundraising initiative, it also provides strong awareness efforts in the local community for the American Cancer Society and its efforts to save lives from breast cancer. Dollars raised help the American Cancer Society save lives from breast cancer through early detection and prevention, innovative breast cancer research, and patient support.
