Fairfield Country Day School Raises Money for Make-A-Wish® CT

Fairfield, CT - Fairfield Country Day School students will be "playing it forward" to raise money Make-A-Wish Connecticut with its annual Skate-A-Thon/Hoops-A-Thon.

For the past 12 years, students and the local community have come together at Fairfield Country Day School to help make local wishes come true. And this year is no different! On Friday, January 24, students in grades K-5 will participate in the Day School’s annual Skate-A-Thon/Hoops-A-Thon. Each boy gets to choose whether he skates laps or shoots hoops for donations. The more laps they skate and the more shots they make, the higher the donations.

Thanks to the generosity of friends, family and community sponsors, the school’s Skate-A-Thon/Hoops-A-Thon has raised more than $100,000 since its inception to help grant wishes to local children with critical illnesses.

The fundraiser will be held Friday, Jan. 24 from 9am-Noon at Fairfield Country Day School, 2970 Bronson Road, Fairfield, CT.

ABOUT MAKE-A-WISH CT:

Make-A-Wish® Connecticut creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. They seek to bring every eligible child's wish to life because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness. Together, generous donors, supporters, staff and volunteers across the state currently grant nearly 250 wishes a year. Since 1986, Make-A-Wish Connecticut has granted more than 3,300 wishes to local children.
