FAIRFIELD, CT - The Beth Davis Rose of Hope Tennis Tournament and first annual Rose of Hope Men’s Tennis Tournament, held September 15 and 18 at Brooklawn Country Club, raised over $36,000 for the Norma Pfriem Breast Center’s charitable programs. Over 90 participants took part in the men’s and women’s tournaments.
The women’s tournament is the primary fundraiser for the Beth Davis Fund for Metastatic Breast Cancer Patients at the Norma Pfriem Breast Center. The fund helps women with metastatic disease gain access to treatment, psychosocial services and other therapies. Andy Gleeman emceed the tournament.
This was the first year for the men’s tournament which benefits the patients and programs of the breast center. “While breast cancer is more common among women, men can also be diagnosed with breast cancer, and this new tournament will raise awareness,” said Mollie Milano, director of community outreach at the Norma Pfriem Breast Center. “I am so happy with the success of both tournaments and grateful to our sponsors. The players had fun while supporting a good cause and the money raised will directly impact our patients and programs. I am looking forward to next year’s tournaments.”
The lead corporate sponsor of the women’s tournament, People’s United Bank has given over $125,000 to the Norma Pfriem Breast Center’s educational and outreach programs since 2012.

The women’s tournament was co-chaired by Kelli Montanaro and Kathy Marsden. Kathy Marsden chaired the men’s tournament. Players came from Westport, Fairfield, Easton, Trumbull, Wilton, Stratford and Weston.
