Senator Tony Hwang Has the Buzz on Cancer Support

FAIRFIELD, CT - Friday, March 18, Senator Tony Hwang (R-Fairfield) showed his support and commitment to childhood cancer research by “going bald.”

The St. Baldrick Foundation’s Team Teddy hosted their first post-pandemic event at Osborn Hill School (760 Stillson Road, Fairfield).

“I am a proud member of Team Teddy and I am honored to achieve the rank of Knight Commander of the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, having provided over 10 years of service to this important organization,” said Senator Hwang. “I am incredibly grateful for the work of St. Baldrick’s as the largest non-government funder of childhood cancer research grants.”

Like so many organizations, the pandemic has greatly diminished the donations which St. Baldrick’s depends on annually, slowing down their progress to find cures. Senator Hwang collected donations for the foundation ahead of the event and it has become a fun and meaningful annual tradition he looks forward to.

“Cancer kills more of our kids than any other disease. Research can change that, and I am proud to join St. Baldrick’s in this mission every year to save children’s lives,” said Senator Hwang.
