Bridgeport, CT - United Way of Coastal Fairfield County is pleased to announce the appointment of Margo Amgott as its interim President and CEO. Amgott will lead the agency during the transition to a permanent replacement. She replaces Jeffery Kimball in the position.
“I am called to United Way as an organization that truly matters to our communities, and whose work makes a difference in people’s lives, said Ms. Amgott. “I look forward to working closely with the board and staff to determine our most critical priorities during this transitional time.”
Margo Amgott brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in nonprofits, higher education, and state and local government. She currently provides transitional support and project management through her consulting company, Amgott Interim LLC.
Board of Directors chair Lucy Teixeira commented, “Margo is well-suited to guide our vibrant organization through the transition. Her impressive track record in fundraising, operations, and managing community relationships makes her an ideal fit for United Way.”
Amgott’s goal is to run an effective organization while continuing to raise awareness of the complex issues confronting people in the 12 towns served by United Way. She will also advise the board in its search for the next leader.

Amgott assumes the reigns on May 16, replacing Jeffery Kimball, who recently resigned.
The Board will launch a search for a permanent replacement shortly.

ABOUT MARGO AMGOTT
Margot Amcott has 30 years of non-profit leadership experience, serving a range of organizations from community and healthcare non-profits, to education institutions, to government agencies.
A specialist in transitional leadership, Margo re-opened the Jacob Burns Film Center with fundraising and renewed programming. She served as Interim Director for Studio in a School, an arts and social justice organization providing standards-based arts education in New York City schools. Before that, she served as Interim CEO at Hearing Health Foundation, the largest non-profit funder of hearing and balance research in the U.S. As COO of the National Council for Jewish women, she led strategic planning for growth and sustainability, as well as policy advocacy.
Earlier in her career, Margo led programs at Columbia University, Hunter College, NYU Langone Medical Center, and for the New York City Department of Health. She holds a master’s degree from NYU’s Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and a BA from Barnard College.
