Fairfield Golfers Help Raise $50K at Tiny Miracles Foundation's Outing

DARIEN, CT –  Twenty Fairfield residents were among the 80 golfers teeing up to help raise a record $50,000 to support local families of premature babies during The Tiny Miracles Foundation’s golf outing, held Oct. 3 at the Aspetuck Valley Country Club in Weston.

This year’s 4th annual event raised the most funds and drew the most participants. Fairfield had the biggest turnout, thanks to Tom and Gwen Noto, Mike and Jen Dooher, Erik Kleinbeck, Phil and Kerri Cagnassola, Chris Klouman, Rob O’Boyle, Matt Rush, Ryan Scully, Patty Baron, Susie Richards, Suzy Schroeder, Kim Murphy, Joe Tison, Bobby Horn, Joe DeFeo, Richard Freedman and Peter Gilbert.

“The 80 golfers who participated made this year’s Tee Up FORE Preemies our most successful outing yet, and we are so grateful to them for their generosity and enthusiasm,” said Tina Tison, Tiny Miracles’ executive director and Fairfield resident. “And we also thank our record 13 sponsors who made the day possible.”

Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessy, LLP, and The Noto Family were Masters Sponsors of the event. U.S. Open sponsors were Grant Thorton, LLP, Twenty Four Wealth Management, Mike and Kristie Godina, and The DiNardo-Aiello Family Fund.

Additional sponsors included Broder Orland Murray & DeMattie LLC, Pediatric Healthcare Associates Dr. Richard Freedman, Ed Borkowski, Brian Hetherington, Michael and Leelee Klein, S&P Dow Jones Indices and F.O.C.U.S.

The day included lunch, carts, long-drive specialist Michael “Moose” Watson, hole contests, dinner and a silent auction.

Based in Darien, The Tiny Miracles Foundation is a nonprofit organization that fulfills the emotional, practical and financial needs of the families of more than 1,200 premature babies born each year in southwestern Connecticut. Founded in 2004 as a response to one in 10 babies being born prematurely in our communities, Tiny Miracles supports parents through on-site partnerships with six leading hospitals in Fairfield and New Haven counties. Thanks to generous individual and corporate donors, all Tiny Miracles’ support is available to families free of charge.
