Competitors Support Homeless Veterans at 9th Annual "Step Up for the Brave" Challenge

Bridgeport, CT - On Saturday, August 26 Homes for the Brave hosted its 9th Annual Step Up for the Brave Stair Climb and Walking Challenge. Nearly 450 Veterans, fitness enthusiasts, and generous supporters came together at Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, CT and virtually across the country to climb stairs or walk a course and raise funds for Veterans experiencing homelessness.

Participants entered either a 90-minute Stair Climb Challenge or Walking Challenge. Those who could not join in person entered a Virtual Challenge. To date, nearly $95,000 has been raised, and donations remain open through September 15. To make a donation, visit https://runsignup.com/stepupforthebrave

“Our 9th annual Step Up was our most memorable one yet. It was an amazing event showing a remarkable display of speed and stamina by women, men, and children,” said Vince Santilli, CEO/Executive Director of Homes for the Brave.

The event was co-hosted by WTNH Anchor/Reporter Alyssa Rae Taglia and AJ from WPLR’s Chaz & AJ show. Prizes were given to top challenge competitors.
