Over 75 vendors are expected to participate, setting up stands and offering a variety of merchandise for sale along the Post Road from the Heritage Square Shopping Center to the Promenade at the Brick Walk. Admission to the event, which is being co-sponsored by the Town of Fairfield and the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, is free.
Sherman Green will feature activities for children and families, including an inflatable bounce house, face painting by Marcia Patterson of “Put on a Happy Face”, balloon artistry by Robbie’s Pack, and an appearance by “Storm” the Bridgeport Sound Tigers mascot. At 11 am, Fairfield Teen Theatre will also be presenting a preview of the upcoming stage production Hairspray followed by Fairfield Center Stage’s announcement of its upcoming productions. This year’s event will feature live musical entertainment at multiple locations scattered throughout the downtown. Musicians will be playing at various times from 11 am to 3 pm at venues set up at the Brick Walk, Sherman Green, Heritage Square, in front of the Community Theater, and near Lion’s Paw & Company, located at 1552 Post Road. Bankwell will be offering several raffle drawings each hour with the winner having 30 seconds to grab as much cash as possible in the bank’s “Money Machine” booth on Sherman Green. The equivalent of the money collected will be put into a Bankwell savings account, with a minimum of $25 and maximum of $75 to be deposited into the account. Take a break from shopping and enjoy lunch at one of several participating restaurants downtown including the Old Post Tavern, where it’s “buy one, get one” on house wines, house liquor and draft and bottled beer in the bar area from 3-6 pm, plus $5 flatbreads and $1 sliders. Centro Ristorante will be offering half sandwiches with a pickle and chips for $4.25. For those in search of a sit-down meal, Flipside Burgers & Bar will be offering pitchers and glasses of sangria for 25% off, and Plan B Burger Bar will be offering specials as well during the day.
