SHU Presents A Discussion on Hookup Culture, Feb. 21

Fairfield, CT - Jennifer Beste, Ph.D., will discuss the college party and hookup culture and if it leads to happiness at a “College Parties, Hookups and Happiness: What College Students Really Think” lecture, hosted by Sacred Heart University.

Beste is a theology professor and Koch chair in Catholic Thought and Culture at the College of Saint Benedict. She is the author of College Hookup Culture and Christian Ethics: The Lives and Longings of Emerging Adults. She sent her undergraduate students out as sober ethnographers to observe and analyze their peers at college parties. Their analyses are eye opening and revealing.

The discussion will be held at the University Commons at Sacred Heart University, 5151 Park Avenue, Fairfield on Wednesday, February 21, at 2 p.m. It's sponsored by the Department of Catholic Studies and the Human Journey Colloquia Series

The event is free and open to the public.
