Fairfield Public Library to Host Mini-Golf Fundraiser, March 25

Fairfield, Conn. - The Friends of the Fairfield Public Library are hosting their popular Mini-Golf Event on Sunday, March 25 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road. Join the fun as the Library becomes a mini-golf course! Admission is $5 per person or $20 per family. Advance tickets for families can be purchased online.  All ages are welcome, however, participants age 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Kids are encouraged to look for the practice holes set up at both the Main and Fairfield Woods Branch Libraries in advance of the event.

“We are excited to have the event at the Main Library again this year," said Event Chair Jacqui Coghlan. “The turnout and feedback from last year exceeded all expectations.” Alene’s Ice Cream Truck will be returning during Mini-Golf, and new to the event this year will be the Super Duper Grub Truck, the first food truck in the nation with a menu dedicated to children. Both trucks will be parked on the Old Post Road in front of the Library throughout Mini-Golf.

In existence since 2003, The Friends of the Fairfield Public Library is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the partnership between the Fairfield Public Library and the community, and advocating for quality library service for all of the people of the town of Fairfield. Over the past fourteen years The Friends have provided over $300,000 to the Library to support special programs, services and resources not included in the operating budget, including a commitment to fund the Library’s museum pass program with $10,000 a year for 10 years.

The Friends sponsor the Fairfield Public Library’s Soundwaves Concert Series and manage the Bruce S. Kershner Art Gallery. They also oversee the ongoing sale of gently used books and DVD’s in The Twice REaD Room at the Main Library, and offer a Books as Gifts program which allows people to honor or remember a loved one with a bookplate placed in a new book to be added to the Library’s collection.
