Southport, CT - With education costs rising year after year, paying for college is a concern for most families. This free program, titled "How to Pay for College Without Bankrupting Your Family", is part of Pequot Library's "Parenting Practices" series. Scheduled for Tuesday, March 20, 2018 7:00 p.m., at 720 Pequot Ave., Southport, CT.

The financial aid process can be confusing, intimidating, and often frustrating. In this one-hour workshop, learn about which colleges offer the best financial aid packages and how the 2018 tax changes effect savings and paying or college. In this free program discover how to avoid mistakes on the FAFSA and CSS profile, how students can receive more free money and less loans, why private universities can cost less than a state school, and how families of all income levels may be eligible for financial aid.

Presenter Sean Flynn is a Financial Advisor with Essex Financial and a Certified College Planning Specialist. A Fairfield University graduate, he holds a B.S. degree in finance from the Dolan School of Business. He is also a Certified College Planning Specialists (CCPS) through the National Institute of Certified College Planners. Sean has been featured in the "Fairfield Business Journal" and contributed to "Financial Advisor Magazine" and "Investor’s Business Daily" for a variety of financial topics.
