Every year, the Connecticut Indian community gets together to organize an EKAL Charity Fundraiser in Stamford. EKAL volunteers strives to increase education levels in the rural villages of India. Due to the lack of accessible public government schools and pressing agricultural labor needs, the village children have very limited schooling options.
The cost of running an EKAL school is $365/year or a dollar a day. You can be a part of the world’s largest education movement by Donating at EKAL.org. Make a difference and impact the education EKAL provides to these villages. EKAL works on the concept “If a poor child cannot go to school, school must go to the child”. Currently, EKAL has 1.8 million kids enrolled in 67,000 schools across India and Nepal.
Today, you can single-handedly change the life of 30 children in need, by donating for just one school. One school means $365, that is, a dollar a day. For more information, visit www.EKAL.org. You can visit a school or track online with your unique EKAL-ID details of your school, activities and lives you have impacted.
