Details Announced for Fairfield's Shop & Stroll Into Spring Event

Fairfield, CT- First Selectman Mike Tetreau announced today additional details regarding the upcoming Shop & Stroll Into Spring event, Thursday, April 26, 2018, 5-9 pm, and invites the public to take part. The event is being co-presented by the Town of Fairfield and the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce.

Participating shops in downtown Fairfield will stay open late and will offer patrons complimentary hors d’oeuvres and seasonal refreshments from 5 pm to 9 pm. Several downtown restaurants will also be offering drink and small bite specials throughout the evening.

The Old Post Tavern is serving up $5 flatbread pizza and $6 Post Road Punch while 55 Wine Bar & Wood Grille is offering shoppers a special festive drink cocktail between 6-9PM. At Shearwater Coffee Roasters, located within the Brickwalk Promenade, shoppers can enjoy a free dessert with the purchase of any coffee, espresso or cold brew. Elsewhere, Flipside Burgers & Bar and the Bodega Taco Bar are offering extended happy hour specials. “The annual Shop & Stroll is a great opportunity to celebrate the arrival of spring, support our local businesses and enjoy a fun night out with family and friends,” said First Selectman Tetreau.

Shoppers can also enter a special drawing at participating downtown stores for a chance to win a Fairfield shopping spree and other great prizes. No purchase is necessary to enter the drawing.

For book lovers, the Fairfield University Bookstore is hosting Fairfield native and NASA Engineer Ann Micklos who will share details of the new book, Bringing Columbia Home, the definitive insider’s account and inspirational story of the Columbia shuttle disaster, investigation and recovery. The program will begin at 7PM on the 2nd floor of the Fairfield University Bookstore.

Beverly Balaz, President of the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce added, “The Chamber of Commerce is happy to be partnering with the Town on this event as it provides our merchants another opportunity to open their doors to the community, meet new customers from surrounding towns and provide a wonderful shopping experience!”
