THE MUSIC MAN follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to organize – this despite the fact he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian, who aims to transform him into a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall.

The all-local production staff includes Direction by Christy-McIntosh-Newsom, Music Direction by Clay Zambo, Choreography by Madeleine Tommins, co-Scenic Design by Perry Liu and Kevin Pelkey, Costume Design by Jessica Camarero, Lighting Design by Don Rowe, and Sound Design by Joe Boerst, with Alec Smith serving as Production Stage Manager. Fairfield Center Stage is led by Executive Producer Eli Newsom.

“The Music Man” in concert is presented with major support from The Fairfield Museum & History Center, Newman’s Own Foundation, and Bank of America. Fairfield Center Stage's mission is to lead a culturally diverse collective of local artists to provide a quality, accessible, and affordable theatre arts experience for the community, by the community.
