Inaugural Art Walk to be Held in Downtown Fairfield

Fairfield, CT - Fairfield’s inaugural Art Walk is set to premiere on Friday, June 22, 2018. The event will showcase original artwork from local artists that will be displayed in participating stores and restaurants in downtown Fairfield.

The Art Walk will be held, rain or shine, from 6pm-8pm and is free of charge. In addition to viewing amazing artwork, attendees will be able to enjoy live music and refreshments as they make their way along the Art Walk route. Participating stores and restaurants will be identified by gray balloons outside.

Businesses participating thus far include: Driftwood Farmhouse, In the Mood Intimates, No. 299, 55 Wine Bar & Wood Grille, Apricot Lane, Fairfield University Bookstore, Capri, Freshii, Palooza, Initial Reaction, and Saltwater. More stores and restaurants are expected to join.

Live music will be performed along the route by a Barbershop Quartet of Kevin Pelkey, Lance Anthony, Brian Crook, and Perry Liu, as well as three lead actors from The Music Man (Marc Improta, Betsy Simpson, and Bobby Henry), which is scheduled to perform on the Fairfield Museum Commons June 28-30, 2018.

Celebratory banners created by students from Fairfield Ludlowe and Fairfield Warde High Schools will be featured on the Art Walk as well. These banners, which are displayed on the ornamental lamp posts in Fairfield Center, highlight the unique qualities of the Town of Fairfield as interpreted by the student artists.

The Art Walk will feature many different types of art, from painting and photography, to cookie art and glass blowing.

Fairfield Art Walk is being presented by Driftwood Farmhouse, in conjunction with the
Town of Fairfield’s Office of Community & Economic Development.

Two additional Art Walk Fairfield events this summer are July 27th and August 24th. More information can be found on the Art Walk Fairfield Facebook page.
