Fairfield Community Invited to Autism Forum, June 14

FAIRFIELD, CT - Sen. Tony Hwang will moderate a Community Forum on Thursday, June 14 to discuss autism related issues, policy solutions, tools and resources for individuals with autism and their families living in Connecticut.

“As a community, and as a state, we are dedicated to promoting solutions for the needs of individuals with autism and their families,” Sen. Hwang said. “We do that through policies, we do that through dialogue, and we do that through increasing understanding and acceptance of people with autism spectrum disorder. We have assembled a passionate group of experts and advocates.  I encourage people to spread the word about the forum. Please stop by on Thursday to discuss this important topic and get your questions answered.”

The forum will run from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Fairfield Board of Education Building, will feature the following panelists:

  •          Autism Speaks State Government Affairs Director Judith Ursitti
  •          Self-Advocate Paul Morris
  •          Kennedy Center Autism Project Manager Amy Parenteau
  •          CT Commission on Women, Children and Seniors Executive Director Steven Hernandez, Esq.

The Board of Education Building is located at Riverview Plaza, 501 Kings Hwy East, Fairfield.
