Fairfield, CT - Families are invited to meet Theodore Roosevelt, the Conservation President, and see history come alive at The Connecticut Audubon Society in Fairfield, 2325 Burr Street, Fairfield, on Saturday, October 6, 2018, 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
CAS Members: $15 per family; Non-members: $20 per family
Join the Center as it welcomes honored guest President Theodore Roosevelt, the country’s 26th President. Roosevelt will be portrayed by Joe Wiegand, a performer and history scholar who is internationally acclaimed as one of the premier Theodore Roosevelt reprisors.
Families can meet “Teddy” from 10:30 a.m. to noon and learn how he earned his reputation as the Conservation President. His legacy will be brought to life through delightful stories and entertaining anecdotes. Wiegand’s knowledge of history and his remarkable resemblance to T.R. make audiences feel they are truly in the presence of the former U.S. President and adventurer.
Be sure to bring your camera to take pictures in the photo booth. There also will be face painting, conservation-related crafts, an ice cream truck with treats available for purchase and a presentation at noon with the Center’s resident birds of prey. As Teddy would say, you’ll be “Deeelighted to be here!”
The proceeds from this event will support the environmental conservation and education programs at the Center at Fairfield.
